The American made Yale is said to be offering a new range of battery electric forklifts which is an energy efficient solution for warehouse lifting needs.
Lifting capacities vary across the range, from 1000kg to 1500kg, and all models are powered by a 24V MOSFET and SEM traction controlled system. The electric forklifts feature transistor hydraulics which offer increased battery life and reduced component wear. The range also has auto regenerative braking (AC Motors), increasing battery, brake and brush life.
How do they compare to existing already popular battery electric forklifts like Crown, Nichiyu, BT, Raymond, Toyota, Nissan that are already successfull within the market? If you go on history and previous trends then Yale has a lot of ground to cover before it gets close. Typically American made units are well behind in technology, features and marketing compared to those that are made in Europe or Asia (Japan / Korea). There is only one real exception to this and that would be Crown. For those that know Yale though, like them. However, most people don't and this is evident as used forklift dealer Koala Trucks, who sells not only within NSW but also around the country and internationally seldomly gets requests for Yale to purchase or trade in's.

Changes to NSW forklift license
Requirements for getting your Forklift license has changed slightly for NSW. The old system allowed you to operate a forklift under the supervision of a licensed driver as long as you kept a log book and signed off the hours. Within the last year the legislation has changed making the log book obsolete when it comes to forklift licenses.
Workcover NSW now requires you to be trained and assessed by a registered training organisation (RTO) before you are legally allowed to drive and operate a powered forklift.
For more information about this or to find out who is a registered training organization please contact Koala Trucks or visit www.koalaforklifts.com.au
Workcover information is available at http://www.workcover.nsw.gov.au/licensing/Licencesandcertificates/Pages/Loadshifting.aspx
